The historic novel Rodney Stone is one of Doyle’s lesser known works. The storyline revolves around the titular character and his best friend, while the novel carries the reader off into England of the Napoleonic Wars and the world of the very English sport of boxing.

This work's first translation into German is the result of a collaboration of Literary Translation students at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and the publisher 28 Eichen, coordinated by translator Heike Holtsch.
